Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RPH) is the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, treating more than 100,000 patients each year.
In 2019, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) announced it has rated Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as ‘outstanding’ overall, and across all five of the CQC domains; safe, caring, effective, responsive, and well-led.
This is the first time ever that an NHS hospital trust has achieved an ‘outstanding’ rating across the five key questions that the CQC asks when it inspects hospitals. It is also the first NHS acute Trust to have gained an ‘outstanding’ rating in the ‘Safe’ category.

- Starting salary Band 5 pay scale from £27,055 gross per annum based on experience
- Pre OSCE salary Band 4 £22,549 per annum,
- Enhancements for “unsocial” working hours, nights and Saturdays +30%, Sundays and Public (Bank) Holidays +60%,

- Nursing degree at post-secondary level leading to registration as a general nurse,
- Proof of English language proficiency (Academic IELTS or OET) in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s requirements, *
- Proof of successfully passing the NMC Part 1 Computer Based Test (CBT) within 4-6 weeks of interview/offer (if not in receipt already) or booked in the coming weeks,
- Minimum 1 years of working experience in medium-sized hospital (minimum 200 beds) setting as a respiratory or thoracic Nurse,
- Currently working or if not currently working, due to studying English, no more than 9 months gap since last position where they have stopped work to focus on English studies.
