Formed on 1 April 2023, Cumberland Council delivers all council services to the residents and businesses of north and west Cumbria, including Carlisle, Workington, and Whitehaven.

Cumberland is home to some of the world’s most stunning rural and coastal landscapes. One of the best places to visit, boasting two world heritage sites, an area of outstanding natural beauty and world class attractions that draw in millions of visitors.

The county’s economy contains strong agricultural and tourism sectors, but we are also a manufacturing economy that boasts some of the most famous brands in the world.
