Register with the HCPC
Anybody who wants to work in the United Kingdom as an Allied Health Professional must be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). NEU Professionals will support you with your registration process so you do not need to be registered before sending us your application. However, it’s recommended that you learn a little about the Health and Care Professionals Council and their requirements beforehand (it will certainly give you brownie points! 😉)
The register
The HCPC Register stores the details of all health and care professionals who meet their standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health. After completing professional training, you’ll need to apply to join it.
Your application route depends on whether you completed your training in the UK or internationally. If you have already been on the Register, regardless of where you trained, you’ll apply via readmission.
What is the HCPC?
The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) is a regulator of health and care professions in the U.K. By law, people must be registered with them to work in the UK in any of the professions listed here.
HCPC’s role is to protect the public. They only register people who meet their standards, including those who have trained outside of the UK, so that they can practise safely and effectively.
The level of care patients receive from a registered professional should meet their standards: Treating patients as an individual, being honest and trustworthy and putting patients’ safety first
What do I need to become an Allied Health Professional in the UK

In the main they are degree-level professions and are professionally autonomous practitioners. 13 of the 14 AHPs are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). AHPs provide system-wide care to assess, treat, diagnose and discharge patients across social care, housing, education, and independent and voluntary sectors.
