Exempt countries
Depending on your situation, you may not be required to present an English language certificate when registering with the NMC. Before sending your application, check that you are exempt from this requirement or have other evidence to present.
You may be exempt from showing proof of passing an English language test if:
- You are a pre-registration nurse, midwife or nursing associate qualification which was taught and examined in English.
- You have Recent practice of at least one year in a majority English-speaking country.
